Transfer Rumours Round Up - 1st February 2016

Posted by 1878 on February 1, 2016 at 12:00 PM

So, I'm currently writing this at 5:30pm, so there's 5 and a half hours left of the window.

Let's get into the rumours from deadline day!

Oumar Niasse Joining the Blues?

Baye Oumar Niasse, a 25-year-old winger and forward from FC Lokomotiv Moscow, is very close to joining the blues. A £13.5 million transfer fee was accepted by Lokomotiv, and Niasse is said to have almost completed his medical. He seems to be a player Everton could do with, giving Romelu Lukaku service on the wing whilst also adding competition for Rom for a first team spot up-top. Niasse was voted the Russian Premier League's player of 2015 and has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 21 matches for Lokomotiv this season.  If completed, the deal would be the third most expensive signing in the toffees's history - let's hope it's a good signing then!

Darren Gibson is Going Nowhere

As we could've guessed, Darren Gibson looks to be going absolutely nowhere, despite rumours of him leaving earlier today. Gibson hasn't had a major role in the blue's first team this season, and would benefit from a loan move away, yet it is said he is staying at Goodison Park.

Goodbye Aiden!

Aiden McGeady has left Everton Football Club to go to Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season. McGeady has not played any games for the blues this season, so a loan move seems fitting for the Irish winger. This loan move is great for both parties, as Everton do not feel Aiden McGeady is good enough, , Sheffield Wednesday feels this is a great Premier League experienced player added to their club, and McGeady himself is happy as he'll gain game time, so everyone's sorted. Good luck Aiden, I hope you do well so Sheffield Wednesday will decide to buy you on a permanent deal!

Basically, that's all so far. What a shite deadline day. There's not even a bullshit Yarmolenko rumour I have seen today, just more news that he's more than likely joining Arsenal. Anyway, I'll keep you updated on our Twitter (@1878Blog) on the Niasse transfer, so keep checking to see where that transfer goes.
