A friendly behind closed doors has been set up to aid Leighton Baines in his injury recovery.
The friendly is due to be played during the international break. Baines usually being first choice for the left back spot, has not played a single competitive game this season, due to ankle injuries.
He has undergone surgery twice on his ankle, and has not played since the end of last season. "We have a got a game that will be behind closed doors in the international break and Leighton will be playing a part in that," Martinez stated. "He needs to have that confidence when making blocks and the contact you can get in a football game."
Baines will be aiming to recover by the Home game against Aston Villa, whether he will feature in the starting eleven is still uncertain, however it seems likely, considering Martinez's known trait of bringing in more experienced players straight away despite the good form of their replacement (ahem...Tim Howard...*cough cough*).
